The simple desire to add color to my entry way door sparked my interest in stained glass in the early 70's. Knowing nothing about glass or the process of making windows, I took a class at the local community college. In 1976 I was given a book by Otto Rigan entitled "New Glass." The book was full of amazing and unique glass work. The artist's ideas were fresh and their work exciting. In 1980 I attended Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, Washington, for a summer session with the renowned glass artist, Narcissus Quigliata and his assistant, Rachel Schutt-Mesrahi. Narcissus emphasized the importance of the lead line. Rachel's focus was panel execution. Their insights into the aesthetics and craftsmanship of glass were inspiring. My autonomous panels for private homes are
distinguished by their original designs, rhythmic patterns and radiant
colors created to enhance and meld with the environments in which they
will be displayed. ![]() |
